How can I become a member of the American Library? |

You have to come to our library with a passport and 10
hryvnyas. Here you will fill out the registration form and obtain a
plastic library card. And that’s all. |

Card do expire and its term is one year. An expired card
cannot be used to borrow materials or use any other library services. |

No, you may not. Periodicals as well as
reference publications and art albums are available only inside the
library. If you need to copy some information from these publications,

inside the library only. |

You can check out up to four books at a

may renew each item three times. |

What are the fines for overdue books? |

We charge a 50 kopiykas per day fine for each book that becomes overdue.
The maximum fine for any item is 20 hryvnyas. The fine must be paid in full
before checking out additional books. |

Just come to the library, explain the
situation and get a new one. |

Yes, there is a free Internet access at the
library. The library members may have one-hour Internet session per day.

languages in the library? |

No, there aren’t any. Most of the library
collection is in English. We have only a few books in Ukrainian. These
are translations of American books or donations by Ukrainian Americans. |

No, you may not. All services including
library items use in the reading-room are provided for the library
members only. |
